Have you ever wanted to debate and argue without offending the other part? This article will take you through some steps to improve your technique.

Get a group of friends together, and make a list of topics you are interested in debating.

Choose a topic and determine who will debate for each opposing side.

Position your groups based on their stance on the topic separating those who are for, those who are against, and any other parties.

Have each side present an opening argument . This should not be interrupted as it is each groups opportunity to form the basis for their claim.

During the formal debate phase each group should be allowed to challenge the position of the other side , however everyone should be encouraged not to interrupt.

Tips

  • Do not yell or use profanity, allow the strength of your argument to make it's own case.
  • If the topic is controversial such as abortion consider the feelings of all present and ensure no one will be easily offended.
